Samsung is preparing to unveil a new rugged Android smartphone namely the Samsung Galaxy XCover 2. It is expecting to show off at the Mobile World Congress 2013 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain next month. This smartphone is a Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 successor that also resistant to dust and water, as well as withstand shock, drops.
The Samsung S7110 Galaxy Xcover 2 smartphone will have a bigger 4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA). Its predecessor, the Galaxy Xcover has only 3.5-inch touchscreen display with resistant to scratches, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, which can act as a flashlight.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 smartphone will brings 4GB of onboard storage, MicroSD card support for expand storage, a 5MP camera on the back, and a 0.3MP front-facing snapper. The upcoming Galaxy Xcover 2 should pack Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 1700 mAh battery, and GPS. Its dimensions are 130.5 x 67.7 x 11.9 mm and weighs 148 grams.
The S7110 Galaxy Xcover 2 is rumored to run Android Jelly Bean (version 4.1 or 4.2) operating system paired with TouchWiz with Nature UX. This phone will works in GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSUPA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz mobile networks. It will be available in two flavors – Titan Gray and Black/Red.
