Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 rugged smartphone pre-order now in the UK

In the UK, Samsung will release its durable smartphone. It is known as the Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 (or Samsung Galaxy Extreme S5690) that officially announced in August 2011. This Xcover is being Samsung’s first rugged Android smartphone and ideal for active users.

New Galaxy Extreme smartphone is already available for pre-order at and priced at £224.39 (around $351 or €260) unlocked/SIM-free. This rugged device is stock arriving end of November 2011.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 rugged smartphone is meets IP67 certified for dirt and dust protected, and up to 1m submerged depth (maximum of 30 minutes).

Samsung Galaxy Extreme S5690 rugged smartphone is boasts a 800MHz Marvell MG2 processor, 512MB RAM, 150MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), and runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS along with TouchWiz UI.

The rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 smartphone is sports a 3.65-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels and protected by Gorilla Glass, a 3.2MP autofocus camera with LED flash, GPS, and stereo FM Radio with RDS.

In term of connectivity, Galaxy Xcover has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 3.0.

Dimensions of Samsung S5690 are 122 x 66 x 12 mm and weighs 116 grams.
