After an amazingly large number of leaks, Samsung has finally official introduced a pair of new smartwatches. They are the Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which revealed at MWC 2014 event. Interestingly, both devices run Tizen operating system, which already known the Korean company has been investing big amounts of resources and money. Company says two smartwatches come with an enriched application ecosystem, and two to three times better than the first Gear’s battery life (2-3 days of usage on the new devices with 300mAh non-removable battery).
There is most differentiating the pair of devices. New Samsung Gear 2 Neo comes without any camera, while the Gear 2 brings an integrated 2-megapixel shooter (on its main body). The camera has autofocus capabilities and takes still images at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution, while video recording is up to 720p with 30fps.
The Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo rocks a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixel. Both wrist-wearable gadgets are housing with IP67 certified that resistance from dust and water.
Not available feature as before, the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo bring a heart rate sensor, which useful with the fitness mode to tracks heart activity, steps, running, walking, or cycling and hiking performance. Two Samsung smartwatches are equipped with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. Moreover, there are an accelerometer and gyroscope. For connecting to your tablet or phone, it offers Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Thank to infrared, users can also controlling a TV via the smartwatches.
Samsung Gear 2
This smartwatch has dimensions of 36.9 x 58.4 x 10 mm with weighs 68 grams. As mention, the original Gear measures 36.8 x 56.6 x 11.1 mm and its weighs 73.8 grams. The Gear 2 will be available in three different color options – Charcoal Black, Gold Brown, and Wild Orange straps.
Samsung Gear 2 Neo
Size of new camera-lack smartwatch device is 58.8 x 37.9 x 10 mm. The Samsung Gear 2 Neo is weighing 55 grams. Consumers will able to choose the color of straps include Charcoal Black, Mocha Grey, and Wild Orange.
