Samsung Story Station Plus, new 2TB external HDD with 0.1W

South Korean company, Samsung has introduced a new version of a Story Station external hard drive, called Story Station Plus, with sales starting before the end of this month.
Unlike its predecessors, Samsung Story Station Plus drive is allows connection to a computer, not only via USB 2.0, but also through the serial ATA (eSATA) interface. That is allowing lightning fast data transfer, the theoretical transfer rate can reach 480 Mbps for USB 2.0 and 3.0 Gbps for eSATA.
Another feature of the new Samsung Story Station Plus external HDD is low power consumption in standby mode, only 0.1 watts (W) from the conventional 2.5W. According to manufacture, it is 96% lower than other external hard drives available on the market.
Samsung Story Station Plus is built on the basis of 3.5-inch hard drive and it will be offered in versions with capacity from 1TB to 2TB. Thanks to Samsung Auto Backup HDD technology is capable of real time or in accordance with the schedule to backup data. It also is bundled with SafetyKey for password protection and SecretZone which is create personal data encryption.
Samsung Story Station Plus 2TB will be available for worldwide market on end of November 2009 and an estimated price is $299.
