Sans Digital TowerRAID TR4X and TR8X with mini-SAS
Sans Digital has announced the expansion of its TowerRAID series external RAID. Its TowerRAID models with a mini-SAS. New high-speed disk were connected TowerRAID TR4X/TR4X-B and TR8X/TR8X-B, which it will allow them to combine the interfaces of four hard drives in a single channel, reducing the likelihood of critical points, as well as help maintain the continuity of data transmission. mini-SAS Technology can help user in areas such as video editing and other demanding tasks. It also sells Fibre Channel connectivity that makes possible to TR4X and TR8X to support SAS or SATA disk with speeds of data exchange 3 Gbps.
TowerRAID TR4X has four compartments for hard drives and the only a single mini-SAS interface, supporting data transfer speeds up to 400 MB/s. A model TR8X hard drive holds up to 8 bays and it is equipped with two mini-SAS. It supports data transfer rate of up to 750 MB/s for a joint work with high performance RAID-controller.
By default, TowerRAID TR4X and TR8X delivered without hard drives, but they can be ordered with different hard drive and controllers. They are available in black or silver casing on the start price of $ 325 for the model TR4X and $ 545 for the modification TR8X.
