Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD with up to 6TB

The competitor of Western Digital on the storage market, Seagate has recently official launched a new version of its network-attached storage device. It’s called the Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD, which enabling up to 6 TB storage space. So, the device will able to save for what’s needed to run the two, three, four, or more storage (HDDs/SSDs) installed in server. Thus, the NAS-aimed hard disk drives are perfectly for server that like very compact PCs.

On the other, WD did releasing the similar storage few months ago, which known as the WD Red and Red Pro drives. Specs-wise, the Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD features an MTBF of 1.2 million hours, a cache size of 128 MB, and 7,200 RPM platter speed. It’s also bundled data recovery service. This Seagate storage is compatible with SMB/SME tower and rackmount servers.

Seagate Enterprise NAS HDDs will be available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6TB capacities. You can use it on rackmount servers with up to 96TBs in one 16-bay. Based on its specs sheet, it looks superior compared with the Western Digital Red Pro have. The WD storage is offering up to 4 TB, 64MB cache size, and 1 million hours MTBF.

Pricing for it hasn’t been made public yet, but given the specs and the premium build we’re not expecting this to be cheap.
