Seagate Pulsar SSD, first solid state drive

Seagate has introduced its first solid state drives (SSD), called Seagate Pulsar. New Seagate Pulsar is made in 2.5-inch form factor using the single-level cell (SLC) technology and it is designed for installation in an enterprise blade and general server applications. Seagate Pulsar SSD has capacity up to 200GB, speed sequential read and write data up to 240 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively. Seagate Pulsar SSD is achieves a peak performance of up to 30,000 read IOPS and 25,000 write IOPS (I/O per second).
Seagate Pulsar SSD is connects to computer through Serial ATA II interface. According to the manufacture, Seagate Pulsar SSD is consuming 50% less energy than traditional hard drive. Seagate Pulsar SSD series is implemented proprietary technology, which is preventing data loss even in case of unexpected power outage.
Seagate Pulsar solid state drive is already offered by the OEM. It is backed at five-year warranty. No word on pricing.
