Seagate Technology has announced their latest 2.5-inch enterprise hard drive, known as Seagate Savvio 10K.4 HDD. The Seagate Savvio 10K.4 enterprise HDD is ideal for NAS, SAN and DAS external enterprise storage solutions. It is comes in 450GB and 600GB of capacities. Seagate Savvio 10K.4 HDD has 2 million hours MTBF (mean time before failure), 10,000 RPM (rotations per minute), and 16MB of cache.

The Seagate Savvio 10K.4 enterprise HDD is supports either 6Gb/s SAS with dual-port communication or 4 Gb/s Fiber Channel, and a 3ms average latency. According to Seagate, it is low power consumption reduce end-user cooling and energy costs. Seagate Savvio 10K.4 enterprise HDD has brings self-encrypting drive (SED) and Protection Information (PI) options, which is offers enhanced data protection and integrity.
