Sharp NetWalker PC-Z1 MID with 5-inch display and Ubuntu Linux
Sharp Corporation at the end of next month plans to begin selling an ultra-compact computer, NetWalker (PC-Z1 model). It is equipped with a 5-inch display.
Sharp NetWalker MID is based on Freescale i.MX515 processor with a frequency of 800 MHz, using the core ARM Cortex-A8. Its RAM is limited to 512MB, for storing data provides 4GB of integrated flash memory. The display of Sharp NetWalker has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels with LED backlit. It will be more than enough to make your Web browsing and office productivity tasks. But with 4GB think possibly not have enough, if you also want it to use multimedia equipment.
The Sharp NetWalker Netbook is equipped with a QWERTY keyboard layout, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, slot for microSDHC card (up to 16GB), as well as two USB 2.0 port and one miniUSB 2.0. Sharp NetWalker Netbook has size 161×109x20-25 mm and weight is about 410g. It claimed battery life up to 10 hours.
This netbook has running on Ubuntu Linux 9.04 OS. It is noted that in fast load mode, users can access applications within three seconds after launch. Sharp NetWalker PC-Z1 will be hits Japanese market in September 25. It will be offered at an estimated price of $480.
