Shuttle has recently expanded its 2-bay NAS server portfolio with the new Shuttle OMNINAS KD22. Designed to act as a hub for your multimedia content, this two-bay network-attached storage features several kind of connectivity type. Reportedly, the OMNINAS KD22 has WLAN capability and higher transfer speeds that compare than the previous models – KD20 and KD21.
Coming with a durable aluminum body with 2.5mm thick and black color, it measures 170 mm x 90 mm x 225 mm and weighs 2716 grams. The Shuttle OMNINAS KD22 2-bay NAS server is powered by a 1.2GHz Marvell 88F6707 processor and 512MB of DDR3 RAM. It runs embedded Linux operating system.
This storage server packs two 2.5-/3.5-inch SATA HDD drive bays with RAID (0,1) and JBOD support. In term of connectivity, there are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports (on the front), and one USB 2.0 port (on the rear). New Shuttle OMNINAS KD22 is equipped with a media card reader on the front panel and built-in ultra-quiet 70mm cooling fan to ensure good performance. In additional, this server provides Two Omni Touch Hot Swap buttons for HDD1 and HDD2.
Shuttle OMNINAS KD22 2-Bay NAS server will be available starting November 2013 and asking price of 156 Euro, which equates to about $210 in the US Dollar.
