Sigma announced a new compact DSLR camera, DP1s, it is an improved version of DP1 compact DSLR camera, which appeared last spring.
Sigma DP1s design is not very different from its predecessor. Sigma DP1s comes with 14MP Foveon X3 image processing and TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine). Like the predecessor, Sigma DP1s is equipped with 2.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 230K pixels and can capture video in a resolution of 320×240 pixels at 30 frames per second.
Among the useful innovation is worth noting the possibility of simultaneous shooting in RAW and JPEG format, and as Sigma DP2 and SD14 DSLR are option quick settings (QS, Quick Set). New Sigma DP1s has a fixed lens focal length (16.6 mm) and aperture (4).
It is included with Sigma Photo Pro software to work with digital images. Cost and timing of Sigma DP1s sale is not reported, however, rumored, it will be available in November.
