Sigma DP2 digital compact camera, available in UK
Sigma UK has announced the start of sales of new digital compact camera, Sigma DP2. Remember, this semi-level camera was announced at last year in Photokina and in March began receiving reservations for this interesting device.
Sigma DP2 camera is equipped with a FOVEON X3 Direct Image Sensor and 14-megapixel resolution. A feature of this matrix is a volumetric three-layer structure with 4.7 million items, in which the separation of additive RGB colors is carried out of level, the thickness of semiconductor material. That is, each of the three layers absorbs its share of the spectrum; blue, green and red. Such an approach reduces the effect of chromatic aberrations and improves color saturation and overall image quality.
In addition, the Sigma DP2 is equipped with camera lenses; fixed focal length of 24.2 mm and a high aperture f2.8, with a special multi-layer coating reduces the probability of ghosting and flare at the pictures. In addition, the camera has a fairly high threshold of sensitivity to 3200 of ISO, as well as the shooting in RAW mode.
Here are Sigma DP2 features;
* TRUE II Image Processing Engine
* 14 megapixel Foveon X3 Direct Image Sensor
* 24.2mm F2.8 lens designed exclusively for the DP2
* RAW and JPEG format recording
* Exclusive Sigma Photo Pro Software
Price of Sigma DP2 digital compact camera is the UK 600 pounds sterling (about 914 dollars). In addition, sale of two optional accessories, the VF-21 Viewfinder is worth £114.99 and HA-21 Hood Adapter is £19.99.
