Sigma DP2x Compact Camera with Foveon X3 sensor

Sigma has officially announced an improved version of Sigma DP2 compact camera namely the Sigma DP2x.

It has a 24.2mm f2.8 lens, a 14 megapixel FOVEON X3 ASP-C CMOS with direct image sensor (2652 x 1768 x 3 layers), which is also used the Sigma SD14 DSLR camera.

The Sigma DP2x camera can shoot maximum resolution of 2640 x 1760 pixels and stored in JPEG and RAW format. It is able to video recording with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels at 30 frames per second.

Feature of Sigma DP2x camera is ISO 100-3200, high speed auto focus, and incorporates AFE (Analog Front End).
New camera is equipped with a 3x digital zoom, 2.5-inch LCD display, SD/SDHC memory card slot, A/V port (NTSC/PAL), and USB 2.0 connectivity. Dimensions of Sigma DP2x are 113 x 60 x 50 mm and weight 260 grams.

There is no word on pricing and release date of Sigma DP2x camera at moment.
