Smart Modular Optimus SAS 6.0 Gbps enterprise solid state drive line
Smart Modular Technologies has just introduced its latest solid state drive that designed for enterprise storage solution, the Optimus. The new drive is a 2.5-inch form factor and comes in four capacity options – 200GB, 400GB, 800GB, and 1.6TB.
Smart Modular Optimus SSD is used a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) 6.0 Gbps interface and multi-level cell (MLC) NAND Flash memory chips. New solid state drive can read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 500MB/s, while wide-port SAS mode is 1,000 MB/s reading.
The Smart Modular Optimus enterprise-minded solid state drive is allows a random read and write performance of 100,000 IOPS and 50,000 IOPS. Reportedly, this device is become the industry’s highest capacity and also fastest SAS MLC solid state drive.
There is no word on pricing at moment but will begin sampling in September 2011.
