Sony cylindrical 3D display prototype with 360-degree

Sony Corporation of Japan is preparing to surprise the visitors of Tokyo’s Digital Content EXP0 2009, opening this week in Tokyo, a unique new development. It represents a 3D display with a fantastic viewing angle of 360 degrees, at which the stereo image can be viewed without special glasses.
New Sony’s 360-degree 3D display prototype has a cylindrical shape with dimensions of 13 x 27 cm and is able to demonstrate the stereoscopic in the 24-bit color scheme. However, image measuring is small, only 96×128 pixels. But even with such resolution, a cartoon character, as shown on the display, looks quite vividly and realistically.
While cylindrical stereoscopic from Sony is only a prototype, and talk about timing the appearance of commercial samples of such devices prematurely. Nevertheless, one can assume that similar 3D displays can be used in systems of digital dashboards, as well as in advertising and public health.
