Sony has recently launched a new OTG flash drives that work on USB Type-C connectors. It is anticipate the connector to grow and more accessories are being unveiled that are compatible with it. Already we known the USB Type-C would be utilized by several smartphones, tablets, PCs, laptops etc.
Well, the OTG drives will be join in the USB CA1 series from Sony. It should be support for USB 3.1 Gen1 that enables transfer data speeds (read) of up to 130MB/s. The new USB 3.1 Gen1 CA1-series flash drives is capable to work with a USB Type-A connector, which offers wider compatibility. Keep in mind company says it is compatible with Windows, Macintosh, Android and Chromebook devices equipped with Type-C and Type-A ports.
Sony will sell the devices in 16, 32 and 64GB capacities. Aside slim and tiny form factor, the new Sony OTG drives with USB Type-C and Type-A connectors has metallic bodywork. Moreover, this drives weighs around 5 grams (without the silicon sleeve) and has protective cases which also feature lanyard eyelets.
If you’re keeping an eye on the USB 3.1 Gen1 CA1-series drives, you be glad to know Sony will offer it for consumers starting from February 2016. Sadly, there is no word on pricing yet.
