Officially introduced back in last month at IFA 2014 in Berlin, the Sony Smartwatch 3 wearable device is now listed in the Google Play Store. Of course, it’s complete with the price tag, this smartwatch has been popped at $249.99 (or $279.99 CDN for Canadian customers) but there is no exact release date of the device – just says a ‘coming soon’.
Sony‘s first Android Wear smartwatch is also dubbed ‘a state-of-the-art smart watch and life logging accessory, according to company. The device is joining the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, which is in releasing a wearable running Google’s Android Wear. The Sony Smartwatch 3 comes with a distinctly sportier vibe in term of design, following the previous model – the Smartwatch 2.
As comparison, those who living in Canada will able to get the Samsung Gear Live for $219.99 price tag, while the LG G Watch is currently selling for $249.99. We’ve already hear that Verizon Wireless will also plan to offer the Sony Smartwatch 3 on its networks. That’s joining the new Verizon-specific version of the Xperia Z3 smartphone, called the Sony Xperia Z3v.
Speaking of Sony Smartwatch 3‘s specifications, you’ll see the 1.6-inch TFT LCD Transflective display that capable to delivering a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. It comes with a stainless steel back panel, which offers a premium look. Smartwatch 3 fits IP68 rated for water and dust resistant. So, the wearable device is able to use even submersed in water for up to 30 minutes. Furthermore, it has 4GB of internal storage, and a built-in GPS.
Aside Android Wear software inside, the Sony Smartwatch 3 is a great work with other Android devices, which runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher. Its 420 mAh battery is good for use for almost two days on a single charge. The wearable device measures 36mm x 10mm x 51mm.
