Sony Vaio, Walkman and Reader with flexible OLED screen, Concept [CEATEC 2009]

October 7th, 2009 | Filed under Technology 0 Comments

At the Ceatec 2009 exhibition, which opened in the Chiba, Japan, Sony showed several conceptual device showing possible applications of flexible OLED screens. Although the presented models are just prototypes, they are clearly demonstrating a desire to use Sony flexible OLED displays in their future products.

For example, the concept is Sony Vaio notebook with two OLED screens. As seen in the picture, the laptop has a screen thickness of only 0.2 mm, placed both on the display and on the “keyboard” area. In addition, the notebook is made in the case of organic glass and has an attractive appearance.

Sony also has demonstrated a prototype e-Book Reader with OLED screen and a futuristic concept of Walkman player, where the audio player itself is made in the form of a bracelet to wear on your wrist. Hopefully, something similar from Sony will soon be seen on retail shelves.
