Sony Vaio X, sexy and world’s lightest notebook
Sony Corporation introduced a world’s lightest notebook, VAIO X. The Sony VAIO X is positioned a novelty as the most compact and lightweight notebook in the world: a minimum configuration of the device, its weighs is only 680 grams (normal is 726g) and shell thickness of Sony VAIO X does not exceed 13.9 mm (which is much smaller than the thickness of the MacBook Air, an equal is 19.4 mm, but still higher than in the newly announced Lenovo IdeaPad U150 is 13.5 mm).
Sony VAIO X notebook has features a 11.1-inch widescreen display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and LED backlight, an Intel Atom Z550 (2 GHz) processor, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, 128GB solid state drive, an Intel GMA 500 graphics adapter, a MOTION EYE web camera, microphone, slot for Memory Stick PRO and SD memory card, WiFi Atheros 802.11b/g/n, build-in Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband, Bluetooth supports A2DP and Fast Ethernet.
The Sony VAIO X is running on Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit). It bundled with Norton Internet Security 2009 and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. It has dimensions 10.95×0.55×7.29 inch (WxHxD).
Sony VAIO X has standard Lithium-ion battery that can work up to 3.5 hours, additional battery will increase up to 14 hours.
Sony VAIO X notebook will be sold in black and gold package for $ 1300 in the base configuration. Currently, Sony VAIO X is available for pre-order and it will be shipping in November.
