Jun 9, 2009 Miscellaneous
The Android operating system, apparently, continues to win market to penetrate the consumer electronics industry, and include the ever-increasing list of supported devices around versions 1.5 and 2.0 of Google’s open source OS instead. At the moment it is netbook, smartbook and, of course, mobile phones. However, Japanese resource ImpressWatch reported that Sony is working on a portable Media, which will be based on software the Android platform. Walkman series of Android operating system will appear in sale in 2010. Details about the characteristics of the device source is not introduced, an official confirmation from Sony on this matter also has not yet been reported.
But that’s not all: another Japanese resource Nikkan mentions Sony plans to submit a personal navigation device (PND) that is running Android. Information about this novelty is yet very little. In fact, only the timing of release: they are the same as an Android-based Walkman in 2010. It is quite possible that Sony will begin the era of Android-players and browsers, although so far it does not confirm these rumors.
