Synology has officially introduced its new NAS expansion unit, namely Synology DX510. This device is provides an additional 5 bays of expansion and support for hibernation as well as hot swappable HDD.

Synology DX510 NAS expansion is sports eSATA 3.0 Gb/sec connectivity with custom-designed connectors on both ends. According to manufacture, RAID volume on Synology DiskStation DX510 is allows expanded directly existing hard drives without reformat. Size of Synology DiskStation DX510 is 157x248x233 mm and weight 4.10kg. It is provides RAID configuration including Basic, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 5+Spare, RAID 6.

The Synology DX510 NAS Expansion is now shipping globally but there is no word on pricing.
