TDK has announced a new series of solid state drives (SSD) called SDG2A. It was composed of SLC (single-level cell) and MLC (multi-level cell) model. The first version presented to the size of storage are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 GB model, while MLC line includes 16, 32, and 64 GB of variation.
New SDG2A SSD series performed in 2.5-inch disks. They have a SATA II interface connections at speeds of 3 Gbps and there are equipped with TDK GBDriver RS2 SATA controller, such as the AutoRecover feature. In addition, there is the option of automatic data encryption on 128-bit AES standard. The MTBF (mean time before failure) with these SSD devices is 500,000 hours.
According to the manufacturer, SDG2A SSD series is show the maximum speed reading equal to 95 MB/s and for the write speed is 28 MB/s with MLC drives models and 55 MB/s with SLC drives models. Expected of 2.5-inch SSD will be on sale in late May, a 1.8-inch version will be presented later.
