Science Laboratory of Tokyo University, led by Professor Ishikawa Komuro presented a system for digitizing books. Thanks to the camera that can shoot at speeds of 1000 frames per second, this system is able to scan pages directly in a time when they overturn. Special laser projector evaluates the geometry of the page for the distortion caused by its movement, can be adjusted. At the moment, such a system can scan a black and white text and images. Theoretically, in the long run it can be used for digitizing color printer products, but it requires the improvement of the quality of the output image.

In the opinion of the creators of this technology, it can be used for the digitization of books that you can upload electronic books in memory of the initial level. Remained only to refine it and make the coup of pages automatically, increasing speed and decreasing the importance of “human factor“.
