Toshiba BDX2000 Blu-ray Disc Player and Satellite P500 [IFA 2009]
Its first Toshiba‘s products supporting Blu-ray are Satellite P500 laptop and BDX2000 home player. They are demonstrated at IFA 2009 (Berlin, Germany).
Toshiba, recall, is the developer of the HD-DVD, in time to position itself as an alternative to Blu-ray. However, losing in the competition, the corporation last month decided to join the Association of Blu-ray Disc and start producing products with the support of this Blu-ray standard.
The first new device, Toshiba Satellite P500 notebook is executed on the basis of Core 2 Duo processor and is equipped with 18.4-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, 4GB RAM, and 500GB hard drive capacity. Toshiba Satellite P500 laptop equipped with a HDMI digital interface, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1, multi-format card reader and Harmon Kardon high-quality speaker.
As the player, that is Toshiba BDX2000, it supported the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio technology. Toshiba BDX2000 Blu-ray Disc Player provides the ability to play movies in Full HD at 24 frames per second. The player is equipped with an Ethernet network controller and a slot for SD memory card.
Toshiba Satellite P500 will go on sale in October 2009, its price is not specified. Toshiba BDX2000 Blu-ray player will be available in November 2009 for priced at $250.
