Toshiba has officially announced a pair of its rugged hard drives, the Toshiba MK1060GSCX and the Toshiba MK8050GACY. Both hard drives are designed for rugged operating environments and continuous 24-hour operation (24/7 operation). It is designed for continuous operation in computing, industrial, and other extreme environments.

The Toshiba MK1060GSCX and MK8050GACY hard drive are made in 2.5-inch form factor and 4,200rpm rotational speed.

Toshiba MK1060GSCX has 100GB of capacity and uses SATA 2.6 interface. It has features temperature operating range from minus 30 to plus 85 degree Celsius, 12ms average seek time.

The Toshiba MK8050GACY is comes in 80GB of storage space and utilized PATA-7 connectivity. Its operating temperature range from minus 20 to plus 70 degree Celsius and 16ms average seek time.

Dimensions of Toshiba MK1060GSCX and MK8050GACY are 100 x 70 x 9.5 mm and weight 96grams. These Toshiba hard drives will be available sometime in December 2010.
