Toshiba plans internet-connected HD media player

We already wrote that the Toshiba enters into a Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) and is planning to release products with support for Blu-ray. However, the company expects to grow not only in this direction. On future devices, Olivier Van Wynendaele, assistant general manager, marketing, consumer products, Toshiba European Operations. According to him, the company is working on a device that can support high-resolution content and will be able to connect to the Internet.

Wynendaele refused to disclose. But we can assume that we are talking about media players that will play HD-video with no physical media, but from a remote server in a streaming mode. Toshiba is also the executive said that the company is completely and finally ceased promotion of their own format for the content of high-resolution HD DVD has only technical support for products already sold.
