Toshiba has introduced new STOR.E series portable hard drives, the Toshiba STOR.E BASICS and the Toshiba STOR.E CANVIO. Both drives are used USB 3.0 interface that delivers fast transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps (Gigabits-per-second) and fast access storage demands of the data-hungry digital generation.

Toshiba STOR.E BASICS and STOR.E CANVIO Specifications

To protect data (their platters) against accidental knocks whilst carried around in pockets or bags, the Toshiba STOR.E BASICS and STOR.E CANVIO is provides an Internal Shock Sensor and Ramp Loading Alert. These external HDDs are comes in three capacities – 500GB, 750GB and 1TB.

The Toshiba STOR.E BASICS portable hard drive has one color only, black. The Toshiba STOR.E CANVIO has more colorful – black, red and green (for 500GB model), black (for 750GB) and blue, black, and green (for 1TB unit).

Dimensions of 500GB and 750GB models are 119 x 79 x 13 mm with weight 147 grams, while the 1TB STOR.E BASICS and STOR.E CANVIO portable hard drives are 119 x 79 x 17 mm and weight 179 grams.

Toshiba STOR.E BASICS and STOR.E CANVIO Price

There is no word on pricing at moment. But it will ship in Europe early Q4 2011.
