Currently, Ubuntu Linux team of developers working on the next version of its software platform called Ubuntu 10.04. Already aware that it is planned to include a number of additions and improvements over the current Ubuntu 9.04. In particular, according to programmer Scott James Remnant, they seek to reduce time of loading the operating system, which ideally should not exceed ten seconds.

Thus, if developers will be able to implement the plans, the time of loading the Ubuntu 10.04 OS will decrease by more than half compared with the current version, “whole” loaded is 25 seconds (decreased from 65 seconds in version Ubuntu 8.10 to only 25 seconds in Ubuntu 9.04.). Interestingly, the developers hope to achieve similar results at sufficiently low Dell Mini 9 netbook, equipped with Intel Atom processor and SSD.

Boot performance Ubuntu 10.04 will manage in such a short period of time, according to Remnanta need to optimize the server for fast maximum load, also reduce the time given to loading the kernel, drivers, initramfs, and other tasks.
