US Cellular Samsung Galaxy Note II phablet get OTA update for multi-window feature

Together with the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III smartphones, US Cellular has also released an update to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system for the Samsung Galaxy Note II. This update (baseband R950VXALL1) will offers multi-window functionality and other changes.

To be super handy 5.5-inch phablet, the Galaxy Note II will bring a multi-window function that a distinguishing feature. Users can OTA (over-the-air) update by just go to the Settings > About Device > Software update.

According to source, there are number of the changes including:

– Split screen functionality is supported (Multi-Window)
– The following U.S. Cellular pre-loads are included:

o Amazon Audible – v. 1.3.9
o Amazon IMDB – v. 2.7.0
o Amazon MP3 – v. 2.7.0
o Amazon Shopping – v. 2.0.2
o Amazon Zappos – v. 2.0.2
o Amazon Kindle – v.
o City ID – v. 1.25.1
o Daily Perks – v. 4.5.14
o Tone Room Deluxe – v. 2.0.31
o Gameloft Portal – v. 2.1.1
o Mobi TV –
o Let’s Golf 3 – 1.0.2

o Wi-Fi Now – 4.4.67

– When taking pictures using “BURST” mode sometimes when you go to gallery pictures would not be displayed they would be black images
– Devices would occasionally toggle between 3G and 1X which is not customer impacting but could generate calls
– Could not search image files by “Search” option in My Files application
– UI changes:
o Sound icon (4th position) color was changed from Gray to Green
o In drop down menu “Sync” was replaced with “Multi-Window” option
