Videotron: Samsung Galaxy S6 starts getting Android Marshmallow update

Videotron has decided through on its commitment to bring the latest version of Android to Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone on its network, Canada. The Galaxy S6, which was released by Samsung back in earlier last year, has started receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

For those who aren’t in the know, the upgrade software offers several something exciting for this handset. That’s including enhanced battery-life through Doze, a redesigned app drawer, and third-party compatibility for fingerprint recognition. Android Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 also brings enhanced application permissions and compatibility for Google Now on Tap.

As usual, if you’re impatient and don’t want to wait for the update notification, you can try to manually check by using the appropriate option in your phone’s Settings menu. It is Tap Menu > Settings > About Device > Software Update > Update.
