ViON HyperStor-6200 “monster” solid state drive

ViON Corporation has released a “monster” solid state drive (SSD), HyperStor-6200, which is the most universal in the world: the ViON HyperStor-6200 can accommodate up to 100TB of information with error checking and correction (ECC).

ViON HyperStor-6200 is used Hitachi Data Systems and Texas Memory Systems technology. The ViON HyperStor-6200 can perform up to 5 million input/output operations per second (IOPS) and the throughput reaches 60 GB/s bandwidth. Response time the device is only 72 microseconds is supported InfiniBand and Fibre Channel interfaces.

The ViON HyperStor-6200 “monster” solid state drive is designed for use in data centers with intensive exchange of information. This may be transactional banking systems, seismic data, high-performance data warehouses, real-time video on demand, station editing, complex graphics rendering, etc.

The cost of the ViON HyperStor-6200 is not disclosed, but according to expert estimates, it cannot be one hundred thousand dollars. ViON HyperStor-6200 Drive is aimed at large corporations, research and government agencies.
