WD My Book World Edition: Redesigned External Hard Drive and More Capacity

February 19th, 2009 | Filed under Computer 2 Comments

It seems that Western Digital has updated its line of external hard drive, its My Book World Edition, leaving one big 1TB of hard drive side by a thinner version, and now, with more capacity. This hard drive is a solution between the external hard disk and personal home server to your local network, it incorporates USB 2.0 and ethernet connections and DLNA to access from, say, video games as Xbox or PS3.

Comes with capacities of 1TB for $229.99 and 2TB for $450 will make its appearance.

The design is basically the My Book Studio, but it seems not the same as the Studio range has no Ethernet connection.

Here’s the detail Features of new My Book World Edition network hard drives:
- Automatic, continuous backup for all the computers on your network;
- Simple file recovery for lost or damaged files;
