WD Scorpio Blue, first 2.5-inch 1TB hard drive
Western Digital‘s new deliveries beginning 2.5-inch hard drive, WD Scorpio Blue, whose capacity for the first time in the industry history is 1TB. In addition, WD has other introduced the younger model that can accommodate up to 750 GB of data.
According to the manufacturer, WD Scorpio Blue HDD is the ideal solution for mobile hard drive, in particular, to My Passport Essential SE external hard disk. In addition, it is possible to use the HDD in selected models of notebook and desktop computers in a small form factor, with the appropriate compartments of size 12.5 mm. Unfortunately, the new Scorpio Blue hard drive is not suitable for most laptops, because they apply only disc height 9.5 mm.
The new WD Scorpio Blue hard drive in its 1TB version is built on three plates; each of plate has a capacity of 333 GB. It is equipped with a SATA interface with the speed of data exchange in the 3 GB/s and supports WD technology such as ShockGuard and SecurePark, increasing the reliability of storing the recorded information.
New WD Scorpio Blue HDD is composed of My Passport Essential SE Portable USB Drives, re-presented in versions with a higher capacity. Model with a capacity of 750GB is $190 and for 1TB version is requested $250.
