WD ShareSpace NAS: New High-Speed Network Storage Systems
A network storage device can be an ideal solution for many businesses. Western Digital raises the product as the most practical and easy to provide security to data and, while they are available from anywhere. The WD Sharespace and gave us very good impression in his official presentation, where we had the opportunity to do some initial tests. Now we analyze it thoroughly after working with him for a few weeks.
The WD ShareSpace NAS is not the smallest; it’s largely motivated by the four bays for 3.5 inch disks that occupy much of their interior space. Of cubic form, is made entirely in metal polishing, but the front cover, gray plastic, but with an excellent touch. Four large rubber feet raise soft few millimeters of soil, enough so that the air flow and minimize noise by the vibration of rotating disks.
There are two buttons on the body of the device, the power and to synchronize a backup. It also has seven LEDs to inform us at any time of the tasks performed by the NAS and a USB 2.0 port. (It’s great for backup or to connect a small external drive). At the rear are a fan of 12 cm in diameter that allows the discs to cool without generating noise, the Ethernet port and two USB 2.0 ports (perfect if you want to expand capacity with new external disks). Kensington includes an anchor to prevent theft (although it is highly advisable to encrypt the information, if not in safe environments).
The interior build quality is remarkable, highlighting the bays that house the discs and solid extraction system of the same. To access the interior of the unit is only necessary to remove two screws (no tools needed). The circuitry is protected by a metal wall and it is virtually impossible to introduce a bad disc. Great Western Digital working on this.

The WD ShareSpace is an ideal storage solution for small and medium enterprises or professional needs to access large amounts of data from anywhere. The transfer rate is inadequate if we move large volumes of data continuously, but its extreme ease of use outweighs this shortcoming in view of the audience going.
It is easy to install, can be extended in a simple and has an assortment of useful software. Maybe this is something great for home users (especially for its price) but we think it is one of the best solutions on the market to keep our data safe, while allowing access from anywhere. WD ShareSpace NAS 8 TB will be available this week and the price is $1,699.99. Also it’s already available in capacities of 2 TB and 4 TB at $699.99 and $999.99
