Western Digital My Passport Elite, My Book Elite and My Book Studio
Western Digital announced external storage solutions with My Passport Elite, My Book Elite and My Book Studio.
Western Digital My Book Elite and My Book Studio have a smaller screen on the basis of “electronic paper” (e-ink), which displays information about the current mode drives, available storage space, etc. The screen is remains operational even when the power is turned off.
Both external hard drives have support algorithm 256-bit hardware-based encryption and are available in capacities from 1TB to 2TB. WB My Book Studio has a FireWire 800 and USB 2.0; it price is from $150 to $300 depending on capacity. WD My Book Elite is equipped with only USB 2.0 interfaces and it is sold at prices ranging from $170 to $280. My Book Elite and My Book Studio has measures 165x125x48 mm (HxLxW).
Western Digital My Passport Elite has only LEDs, announcing the amount of free space and a mode of operation. The WD My Passport Elite comes with a portable USB dock connects to computer via USB connectivity and it is available in versions of 320GB and 500GB.
The WD My Passport Elite also supports 256-bit hardware data encryption and comes in three variants of shell colors (black, red and blue). Size of My Passport Elite is 110x83x15 mm and weight is about 160g. Its cost is from $120 to $180.
