After unveiled its first notebook and electric folding bike, Xiaomi has also officially announced its VR (Virtual Reality) headset in China. It is called the Xiaomi Mi VR Play, which same name for globally market. New device comes with a zipper design to ensure the phone doesn’t fall out when moving the headset. This zip makes it looks unique and also made by Lycra fabric (nylon + spandex) and EVA. These material are knowing lightweight and skin-friendly. It won’t make discomfort when using it for longer period.
Xiaomi Mi VR Play headset with zipper design is capable to use with phones from 4.7 to 5.7 inches in size. Users can easily adjust the phone if it moves and ventilation, thanks to openings on the front.
The Mi VR Play sports anti-glare aspherical lenses with tolerance of just 0.01mm, which is the best clarity option. You’ll also found a metal button on the top to interact with the phone. There is non-slip pads on the inside that prevents it from accidentally accessing buttons when using the headset.
Good thing, company has decided to separate VR App to panoramic video, 3D movies, VR games, and more. Overall, apps designed for the headset. Keep in mind that the Chinese company has been partnership with Conde Nast Traveler, YouKu and Korea’s Dooribun to deliver the VR content.
Officially pricing and release date haven’t revealed yet but it is expected at price of 49 yuan (about $7).
