Xiaomi, better known a company that produce smartphones, tablets, and other electronics consumers, has recently announced a new bike at an event in China, namely the Xiaomi QiCycle. It is company’s first folding electric bike and developed under its new sub-brand Mi Ecosystem (known as MIJIA).
Coming in patented longitudinal folding design, the bike with the main beam is not folded, which is able to be stored easily after folding. Xiaomi QiCycle foldable bike can take advantage of TMM torque sensing technology to ensure you step on the pedal and able to know how much effort you give. It provides you appropriate power to ride the cycle comfortably.
As Xiaomi QiCycle electric folding bike, you will enjoy it with 250W 36V high-speed motor. Company says it can climb steep roads easily, as well as a maximum speed of 20km/h. This bike provides a smart meter that allows you set different riding needs. Thus, the QiCycle has an intelligent motion data monitoring to keep track of mileage, speed, dynamic power and calorie burnt when riding.
All are embedded on a 1.8-inch (160 x 128 pixels) display. In case, you need more data, it can be synced to a smartphone app via Bluetooth 4.0 LE connectivity. There is Shimano gear shift with three modes – easy, standard and fast. So, it makes easy riding when the battery of bike runs out of charge.
The bike has also Panasonic 18650 battery, which combines two 2900 Li-ion battery cells and delivering a total of 5800mAh / 208.8Wh power. It is also providing BMS battery management technology. Considering replaced easily, the battery is built into the frame. It promises up to 45km of ride after a full charge and takes about 3 hours to charge the bike.
Already certified for European electric vehicle standard EN 15194, the bike is also fit IPX5 rated for water resistance. The Xiaomi QiCycle electric folding bike takes a lightweight aluminum frame design that makes it weighs just 13.5kg.
The Xiaomi QiCycle electric bike could be found in China and is price of 2999 yuan (about $455 USD).
