ZTE Geek U988S, World’s First Tegra 4 Phone from China Mobile

Title as the world’s first Tegra 4 smartphone has been out for the ZTE Geek U988S. This handset will be available in Chinese market via China Mobile carrier. ZTE has confirmed that the Geek U988S smartphone boasts NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor, instead of the Intel chip as we had already known few month ago. ZTE-Geek-U988S-smartphone-1

Meanwhile, the ZTE Geek U988S as the first phone in the world to have this CPU. The NVIDIA’s upcoming Tegra 4 is a quad-core chip with clocked at 1.8GHz. The new ZTE Geek smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean software.

Unlike the previous variant, new ZTE Geek U988S brings a 5-inch touchscreen LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels that upgrade from 1280 x 720 pixels. This phone still used 8-megapixel rear-facing camera but has 2MP front camera (instead of old 1MP). Dimensions of ZTE Geek U988S smartphone are 144 x 71 x 9 mm.ZTE-Geek-U988S-smartphone-2

There is no word about availability on other markets. As mention, the U988S is only work on TD-SCDMA network from China Mobile.
