Sony Xperia Go waterproof smartphone in the UK next month

Via its website, Carphone Warehouse is offering pre-register for the Sony Xperia Go in the UK. It is expected to be launched in July but no word on pricing for the new rugged handset. Together with the Xperia Acro S, this waterproof smartphone was announced by Sony in late May and called the Sony Xperia Advance in the US market.

The Sony Xperia Go smartphone is fits IP67-certified for water and dust resistance for extra durability, also brings powerful specifications. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS (update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later), the waterproof Xperia Go boasts a 1GHz ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage.

Coming with truly premium body, new Sony waterproof handset packs only 9.8mm thin, just 110 grams, and a 3.5-inch scratch-resistant HVGA touchscreen display with wet finger tracing technology. Other feature is a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, and GPS.

Besides MicroSD card support (up to 32GB in capacity space), the smartphone is also offering a whopping 50GB of Dropbox cloud storage.
