Most top-tier smartphones / tablets adopt Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for easy communicate / transfer content between devices. Now, Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) memory card is also built in NFC with same functionality. Toshiba has official announced its SD memory card integrated with NFC technology. Company claims it is the world’s first SD card to feature NFC (Near Field Communication). Then, this tiny storage is capable to be used with Android smartphone/tablet and check out everything on the card. Moreover, you can also preview thumbnails of photos on the card. Thanks to the Memory Card Preview app, you need to download and install it on your Android device. You’ll see the Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) with NFC technology in three models; 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB.
This new Toshiba SDHC card with NFC will allow users to see the contents without a PC or another card-reading device, that’s interesting. It’s capable to 16 thumbnail images to be displayed to identify exactly images. New NFC-enabled Toshiba SDHC memory card is utilized UHS Speed Class 1 that supports 4K2K video recording. It’s also compatible with SD Speed Class 10, which is minimum speed of 10MiB/s. Thus, this Toshiba card features NFC Forum Type 3 Tag compliant with 13.56MHz of radio frequency. Dimensions of card are 32mm by 24mm by 2.1mm and weighs approx. 2 grams.
Toshiba has not revealed when the NFC-ready SDHC card will be released, nor how much it will cost, though as we known, the card would be available sometime in next month.
